Godfrey Walusimbi To Feature In Uganda’s AFCON Squad Final

Godfrey Walusimbi, the former Kaizer Chiefs defender has been named in Uganda’s final squad for the Africa Cup of Nations despite the player being unattached to a club. Uganda will be in a tough group consisting of hosts Egypt, as well as Democratic Republic of the Congo and Zimbabwe respectively. The Cranes are scheduled to get their 2019 AFCON campaign underway with a match against DR Congo on Saturday 22 June this year. Walusimbi, who has been without a club since he parted ways with Kaizer Chiefs in January, has been named in head coach Sebastien Desabre’s final 23-man squad for the AFCON, alongside with PSL stars Allan Kateregga and Denis Onyango from Mamelodi Maritzburg United and Sundowns respectively, among other players.
